a. Goals of professional development
The goal of the professional development is to utilize a simple piece of technology that can be incorporated in all grades and subjects within the school. This meets the 21st Century Skills and can enhance student learning. It is hoped that all teachers within the schools will use the Flip Video Cameras within their lessons.
b. Who, what, where, when, and how often professional development will be provided
Professional development will be held after school once a month for an hour. We will meet with our school's technology advisor/supervisor to guide us through these meetings. We will also have the support of the members within our technology committee to help as well. Any additional help that is needed outside of this can be scheduled one on one with the school's technology advisor/supervisor.
i. Consideration for varying user levels
The introduction to the cameras will start off basic and go from there. Any teacher wishing to go further and more advanced will be encouraged and guided.
c. Student orientation/training plan
Students already have to read and sign an Acceptable Users Agreement Policy contract, which has to do with the technology provided within the schools. When using the cameras, the teacher will show students how to use them. Only an introduction is necessary with guidelines and warnings.
d. Evaluation of professional development programs
Evaluation will be made to ensure the technology advisor/supervisor is properly training the teachers. The teachers will also be evaluated to make sure they are attempting to implement the cameras within their classroom.
e. Communicate with Professional Technology Committee
This will be held at the once a month meetings
